Metal Coffee Table with a Glass Top
Photographed in Safavieh's Photo Studio
Photographing and editing the glass coffee table presented numerous technical challenges, primarily due to its highly reflective glass top surface and it’s white metal frame. During the photography phase, meticulous control over lighting was the biggest concern, since executing it correctly will result in a reduction in background illumination to prevent overexposure of both the reflective glass top and the white surrounding elements. For specific perspectives, such as the top-angle shot, the glass panel was temporarily removed by my assistant on set, and the table's frame was carefully angled using a paper towel, while I utilized an apple box to achieve the precise height with optimal maneuverability.
Subsequently, the post-production workflow addressed these complexities by having me go into Photoshop to composite the glass onto the table's frame. Ultimately, achieving a professional series of images of this glass coffee table required a combination of innovative on-set techniques and advanced digital compositing.
